With two days to go until the final countdown to 2016, we’ve already had plenty of time to fret about our New Years Eve plans. But, even if we haven’t got the final event locked-down, there’s one thing that we do have locked down for the night of the year – our make-up, of course! Created using all new products at The Birchbox Shop, this 3-step routine is utterly foolproof – and completely flawless! Read on for the full how-to…
STEP 1. THE EYES
There’s certain occasions when we really want our eyes to make an impact, and New Years Eve is one of those times! Thankfully, Benefit’s NEW They’re Real! Tinted Lash Primer landed at The Birchbox Shop on Boxing Day – and this stuff makes all the difference. Apply it as you would your usual mascara, wriggling the brush from root to tip, to coat your lashes in the natural mink-coloured formula. It lengthens and separates each individual lash (and makes a pretty daytime mascara!). Then, follow with your usual mascara – we used Benefit Roller Lash here – for supercharged, super-dramatic lashes. LOVE.
STEP 2. THE GLOW
If there’s ever a time when we’re partial to a bit of shimmer, it’s party season. So, when we clapped eyes on the Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette we were smitten! Using a fluffy brush, Rachel applied a little of the Luminizing Face Powder in Radiance to the tops of her cheekbones for a rosy glow, then applied the Eye Colour in Glow, using an angled eyeshadow brush, beneath her brow bones to open up her eye area. With four shadows and two luminizing powders in this gorgeous palette, you can really mix-and-match to create a highlighted look that suits every complexion.
STEP 3. THE BOLD LIP
Finally, we just had to include a red lip as part of this celebration-ready look – and the Ciaté London Liquid Velvet in Diva is our latest love (and the brand’s first foray into colour!). You can apply this stuff directly to your lips with the precision-tipped wand for super-bold, ultra-matte-, long-lasting colour. This stuff will stay put through eating and drinking which makes it perfect for big nights out – no touch-ups required!
